Raised in the Utopian Society of Home, Washington, Haffer was one of the most original  and innovative artists ever active in the Northwest.
A musician as well as a painter/printmaker, Haffer turned to photography in the mid-1920’s. She was a member of the prestigious Seattle Camera Club and became internationally famous for her photography especially in the field of Photograms.
