In 1958, the Washington Post praised Danny Pierce as one  "...of America's most outstanding graphic artists...", but Mr. Pierce's reputation has extended beyond the realm of printmaking and has transcended national boundaries.
 
 
   As a renowned painter, printmaker and sculptor, the artist has works in various mediums included in the permanent collections of many of the world's finest museums. Since the 1950's, he has also been producing hand crafted books which are written, illustrated and printed completely by the artist.
 
    An instructor at several major Universities, he has taught locally at Seattle University, Cornish, Burnley School as well as Hunter College, N.Y.C., University Of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and University Of Alaska where he established the Art Department under a Carnegie Grant in 1959.

His substantial exhibition record reflects the critical acclaim and recognition he has received throughout his career and includes the Corcoran Gallery, the Los Angeles County Museum, Seattle Art Museum, Brooklyn Museum and numerous other national and international venues.
 
Danny Pierce received his training at the Art Center School and Chouinard Art School, both in Los Angeles. He later studied in New York at the American Art School and the Brooklyn Museum Of Art with Max Beckmann, Gabor Peterdi, Raphael Soyer, Ben Shahn and William Gropper.
 
His work is represented in important international collections such as the Museum Of Modern Art, N.Y., Library Of Congress, Smithsonian Institute, Seattle Art Museum, Brooklyn Museum, National Museum Of Sweden, Bibliotech Nationale, Paris and numerous others.
